Lessons From Lucy & Friends: Fox

Lessons From Lucy & Friends:

Lesson From Fox

Even though we live in the suburbs of Washington, DC we are blessed with many wild beings. I never know who might show up from day to day. There is a fox family that used to have a den right on the edge of our property but they moved. Several different red foxes still visit our bird feeder along with deer, squirrels, chipmunks and of course birds. Early this morning one was right outside the window and then poof! She was gone. Most likely hunting her breakfast.

Earlier this summer while I was out on our screened porch doing my morning meditation with Rudy on my lap, I received a message and lessons from "fox". This message is a wonderful lesson for we humans. This is from the fox's point of view...

  • Be alert and use all of your senses to instantly assess every moment and situation.
  • Keep moving when outside the den/home.
  • Be quick when needed but always quickly assessing the situation, especially when it comes to food.
  • Feed yourself first and then feed your family.
  • Find others and work together for the common good of survival. (She shows me the deer family that always comes into our yard. She often appears just after they (the deer family) eat at our bird feeder and at times is right there with them. The reason she is always close to them, she shares, is they know the best places to find food that the humans share with the wild ones. They have an interesting collaboration and agreement.

  • Dig in the earth. (As you are digging become the earth. Let everything else go and become obsessed with the digging...claws and paws and the feel, smell and textures.)
  • The cave or den is home and sanctuary but so much more.
  • Go into the earth every day.
  • Take nourishment on all levels from the mother. (Mother Earth) In summer it (the earth/den) is dark and cool  but in winter it is warmth and protection...always protection from the elements.
  • Sleep. Deep sleep. All needed.
  • Feel the feeling of safety and comfort.
I am always in awe and humbled by the profound and wise lessons that the animals share with we humans.

What lessons do you take from the message from Fox?

The Morning Chatter: Deer Friends

The Morning Chatter: Deer Friends

Happy 2016!!!!

May this year bring you good health, great joy, and many blessings. May your relationships with the animals and nature deepen and grow with each moment that you experience.

This year continues with new editions of The Morning Chatter. The Morning Chatter is a series of videos that you can use for meditation and connection with the animals and all that is. Meditation is key to so many things in our lives. When we relax we open the doors for healing to take place. When we are in that open and relaxed place we are also better able to have deep connections and communications with our animal friends. The animals are great teachers of how to BE and how to live life to the fullest. It is so simple and yet profound.

I hope you continue to enjoy the Morning Chatter this year and feel free to review the past editions found on this blog as well as on the Animal Paradise You Tube channel.

This edition of the Morning Chatter features the Deer People. There is a little family that has been coming most mornings and evenings to have a meal. There is a mother and her twins, a boy and girl. They were born in a neighbors yard this summer. The mother jumped the fence and gave birth leaving the babies safely inside the fenced yard until they were old enough to jump the fence on their own.

This day they were joined by a young buck. He is not the father. Often in the evenings they are followed by a beautiful red fox. Quite interesting and delightful how they work together for the common good and survival of all.

Please enjoy my Deer Friends....

The Morning Chatter: Sunrise

The Morning Chatter: Sunrise

(With music)

I used to be a "night owl" and still can be but I also have a great love for getting up at "o-dark-thirty". There is something magical in the moments just before the sun rises. There is a stillness, peace and calm feeling just before nature seems to wake up. The air feels different and the energy in the moment also has such a lovely feeling to it. I usually go outside to fill the bird feeders and make sure there is water in the birdbath. Sometimes the stars are still shining and I see the moon in the sky. Often in the warmer months a single deer or a family are laying down just watching me go about my chores.

Bucky
In an instant, if you take a moment to pause and notice, you will notice that the sky is getting lighter and  nature is beginning to stretch and yawn. It is as if all the wild ones are helping the sun rise up through the trees. The birds begin singing and calling. Can't you just feel and hear it all?

Please enjoy this edition of The Morning Chatter as the sun begins to glow between tree trunks. The air is making the leaves and branches of the trees move, dance and sing their song. Just take a moment and BE. BE with the sun and feel it glowing as you connect with all of nature through your feet on the ground.

The Morning Chatter: Buck, Doe & Rudy

The Morning Chatter: Buck, Doe & Rudy

Our morning routine consists of the simple things of life as we stop and greet the day after coming downstairs. Before breakfast I usually go out and fill the bird feeders and check to see who is visiting or maybe spent the night close by. This morning, as Rudy watched me from the porch, our friendly deer pair came bounding from the wooded area at the back and side of our yard. I have known them since they were spotted fawns. As babies I called them Prince Charming and the Princess. Now Charming is quite the king and man about town and his sister, the Princess, remains near by him most of the time.

This week he shed his antler velvet and for the first time his antlers are in all their glory.

I invite you to watch this short video and feel the fun that Rudy and I have most mornings as we are greeted by our deer friends. How do you feel as you connect with them?

The Morning Chatter: Rudy's Deer Friends

The Morning Chatter: Rudy's Deer Friends

It was a beautiful early spring morning in April. The cherry blossoms were in bloom and the early spring flowers were dancing every so daintily in the cool air. Rudy was on his porch watching over his deer friends. They often come for their breakfast of fallen birdseed and cracked corn. Last years fawn, now almost one year old now, love to play and scamper around the yard. Rudy is usually fixated on them as they greet each other with a morning hello.

As you watch and listen to this video, take a slow in and out breath and feel as if you are with Rudy observing the deer family. Feel who they are and connect with them on a deeper level. Imagine the cool spring air and feel the greenery coming alive. Listen for the songs of the various birds that are filled with such joy to have another morning to sing.

I hope you join in the conversation. The conversation of just "being". Be in the moment and feel the communion of all nature coming to life and waking up.

The Morning Chatter: Meditation with Mushrooms & Deer

Wild Mushrooms & Deer

It was September and the sun was lowering in the west as I was walking in our yard. This was the largest crop of orange/yellow mushrooms ever. As I began to photograph them Mommy, my deer friend, and family began to come into our yard for their evening snack.

This was a special moment in time where the earth energy and the animals of nature were very strong and yet so sweet.

Please enjoy as I share this special moment with you. Feel the wisdom of the mushrooms and their connection to the earth and wood and trees as the deer are enjoying life.....
